How much CBD should you take? What determines the “correct” dosage, anyway?
Is it different for everyone or is the recommended dosage printed on the label? And does it matter how you take it or what you’re taking it for?
If you’ve never used CBD before, you probably have a lot of questions like these running through your mind. Fortunately, for all your questions about CBD dosage, we have the answers.
And you’ll find them right here in this guide. Read on to learn what you need to know.
Why Doesn’t the Label Give a Recommended Dosage?
Many CBD users, and clinical studies, report the positive effects of this drug. This evidence suggests that CBD has the potential to treat pain, anxiety, inflammation, and many other health issues.
Still, as of yet, the FDA does not support these claims, with one exception. One CBD-based drug, called Epidiolex, is approved for the treatment of some forms of epilepsy.
Aside from this, there are no other uses recommended by the FDA. Thus, there is no recommended dosage to put on the label.
Are Side Effects or Overdoses Possible?
Currently, it doesn’t seem possible to “overdose” on CBD. Those who have taken very large amounts of CBD have only reported mild side effects, if any.
Aside from this, there are no side effects of taking CBD except where they conflict with other medications you may be taking. For this reason, check with your doctor before trying CBD.
So, How Much CBD Should You Take?
Since no one can truly give you a recommended dosage, you’ll have to discover yours for yourself. Here are the steps you need to follow in order to do so.
1. Talk to a Doctor Who Knows
Start by asking your doctor. If your doctor has little experience concerning CBD, have him/her refer you to a doctor who knows more on the topic.
2. Get Some CBD
Learn about your options by researching the types and brands of CBD that are available to you. You’ll want to check a lot of websites and shops and compare prices, too. To start, shop for CBD capsules here.
3. Measure the Dosage of the Product.
You need to understand how many milligrams of CBD are in each serving of your chosen product. Also, figure out how the serving size is measured so you can accurately experiment with your dosage.
4. Start Small and Increase
Now, try a small dose (about 5-10 milligrams) and see how it affects you. If you feel nothing or very little, increase the dosage on your next try. In this way, gradually increase until you find your preferred dosage.
