Some people have very complicated, and intricate skin care rituals that usually involve a plethora of products, and upwards of 30 minutes in front of a mirror. Don’t be fooled though, taking care of your skin can be very simple and straightforward, all you have to do is follow these simple tips.
This may seem like common sense but a lot of people overlook the basic rules of washing your face. First of all, use tepid to cool water. This will cool your face down, and help close your pores which makes sure that any dirt you wash out of them will stay out. Second, use an appropriate cleanser. Facial cleansers aren’t one-size-fits-all and the right one for you depends on your skin type. We do however suggest that you use organic & natural beauty products because they don’t contain the harsh chemicals that conventional products do.
Just like you, your skin gets thirsty. If it’s been a particularly hot or cold day and you feel your skin starting to dry, moisturize! Try to find a moisturizer that both hydrates your skin and protects it at the same time. There are also a variety of different kinds of moisturizer for different types and kinds of skin, so find the one that works best for your needs. Just like your facial cleanser, it’d be best if you used a natural skin care product to avoid exposing yourself to any unnecessarily harmful chemicals.
As much as it is an integral part of human life, the sun can also be a very dangerous source of damage for your skin. Regardless of how long you spend under the sun on a daily basis, applying a bit of sunscreen everyday wouldn’t hurt, and could save you from a lot of unwanted sun damage. Again, natural is the way to go, and finding one that agrees with your skin’s sensitivity level is key.
Most people associate sweatiness with an uncomfortable, unpleasant, and sort of dirty feeling. Contrary to how most people feel about it, sweating is actually a very healthy and important way of keeping your skin healthy. When you sweat, your pores open up which also releases any trapped dirt. By regularly breaking a sweat, you actually keep your skin clean and healthy. It’s also been scientifically proven that sweating is a great antioxidant, and that regular exercise can lead to much clearer skin.
Everyone’s heard that you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and taken it for granted, but staying hydrated is an integral part of maintaining healthy skin. How much water you drink everyday differs from person to person. To determine your ideal daily water intake, take your weight in ounces and divide it by 2, and voila, drink that much water each day and your body will both feel and look better.
Now of course there are a ton of other things you could do to keep your skin healthy, but think of these simple tips as the bare minimum. Follow them consistently and you should find your skin looking healthier and feeling better than usual!
